My buddy Tokkar from Tales From The Crossroads on tales.net16.net did the secret santa of Coffin Comics! He did an amazing job! Click on the thumbnail to go to his site and check it out! Also, take a look around while you’re there, he’s got some excellent stuff on his site and it’s very funny too! >D
Alright gang! Time to let the cat out of the bag! The thing that I’ve been so secretive about is…
…
A BRAND NEW COMIC! woo!
That’s right! My new baby is What’s Shakin’ at WhatsShakinComic.com!!! It’s a stand alone original story following Coffinshaker and Friends through his travels and antics. Updated every Monday! This is very different from what I do now. Like I said, it’s a stand alone comic so no wowland references, but it will be fantasy based (well duh I guess, lol, he is a mage after all). So yeah, that’s the basics of it! Right now there’s the chapter 1 cover and a little bit to explore, though more will definitely open up later! The forums and shop will be available on the 6th with the launch of page 1. So once again…
Page 1 will begin on 09/06/2010!!
Hope yall enjoy!
Ps… just a reminder, the Monday Mini will be moved to Wednesdays.
Ok… after much playing around and decreasing sanity as a result… I have made a Coffin-Comics.com (had an extra free domain name I didn’t know about, go figure), however, this will redirect back to the jesterbrand site you all know and love. I wanted it to be moved over to the new domain, but it seems the technical junk with that will instead cause my head to implode… and nobody wants that.
So… yeah… coffin-comics.com = coffin-comics.jesterbrand.com, but with less insanity. Maybe in the future it will be the other way around… But hey, at least it’s slightly easier now than having to type the whole thing… right? RIGHT?!
XD
For my friends’ BDays, we went to a “you paint ceramics and they fire them” type place, which was tons of fun! So I joined the festivities and made this! Enjoy! >D
Well, ok… that’s slightly melodramatic… but I did just update my Comicpress version and had a mini heart attack trying to do it. Very scary when everything goes back to default and you forget what settings you had… But, I think I got it where it’s supposed to be! Maybe… XD
In retrospect… Comicpress Companion is a VERY good thing cause in my techtarded state, I didn’t do any of my mods using it… so… everything went poof for a short period of time. So if anyone sees things go wonky anywhere, let me know!
>D
Yup, that’s right! At Coffinshaker’s Mouse Pad emporium we’ve got your mouse pad needs covered! For only $9.99! I have the latest ones up now with more to come soon. (I now know that I should have formatted these MUCH better for ease of future printing… well… live and ya learn right? So it might take me a little time to format the earlier stuff correctly.)

Well, I’d like to take some time to give an update on the whole computer changing experience… This was a hard one for me, because for nearly 3 years now I’ve been all Mac. So migrating my workflow to Windows 7 was a bit painful. As you all know, I needed a work computer for my art and whatnot, so the most cost effective way to do that was building a pc. If Mac ever made their OS available to the pcs, I’d be all over that.
But I’ve spent some time with the old pc now for a month or two and I have to say we’ve had our ups and downs. Mainly downs at first. See, I bought the 64bit version, since it would go very nicely with Photoshop and whatnot. However, I did go into this knowing it doesn’t always like to play nicely with non 64bit software.
Actually, for the first, what, month or so it kept randomly shutting down and crashing! And that’s the whole reason why I got this! To get something that worked because my Mac did the same thing! Well, you’ll all be happy to know it runs perfectly fine now. For such a complicated and expensive piece of software, it is amazing how little it takes to trip the whole system and watch it tumble down.
A setting… a single setting… that doesn’t logically seem to effect ANYTHING to do with why it would crash in the middle of your work. But there it is! Basically, it was just in the “power management”, I had to set it to the maximum instead of automatic. You know, the setting that controls when to put the puter to sleep, like 10min of inactivity kind of thing… NOTHING to do with “do you want to crash while drawing? yes/no?”…
Other than that… I’ve actually been fairly impressed with Windows 7 (aka, Mac Jr.). It seems to run things much better than my (luckily) brief exposure to Vista. Heck, even got some free to play games on there! Cant do that on a Mac! So, that’s where I’m at with this. Hopefully if anyone out there has suffered with shutdowns with their new Win7 64bit, this tidbit will help. >)
In other news, WOW.com had a nice little announcement just the other week about putting WoW on an iPad… Ok ok, as ridiculous as this sounds, the story harbors a more important, and practical, point. STREAM GAMING VIA A BROWSER! What this means, is that Mac people will FINALLY have the service to play ANY game they want! Linux too! I guess the concept is similar to VNC where it takes your key/mouse input and sends back a stream of the monitor… but a little more sophisticated. I’m just liking the impact that this could have on the Mac community. A nice outlet to get all those pc games (and other software, like maybe Office? Adobe Suite? expensive things like that at a lower rate?) but not even have to install them! Heck, this is even a triumph for people with older pcs. The stream is the same and as long as your net connection is good, you can have the visual effects of a wicked high end gaming pc on your Tandy 1000! Man, where were these guys a few years ago? So anyways, check them out, still in beta but worth a look – Gaikai.com

Hey gang! I just wanted to toss out some big ol thank yous to all the people that helped me get off my butt and get this comic rollin! My friends, family, guild, fellow authors, and all my fans! So thanks you guys! For something that started off as just a few doodles, I have been in awe of the response this comic has been getting. >D
So, to thank everyone properly, I thought it might be a hoot if I dug up some old baby pictures of Coffishaker (made many many years ago). And here it is! The first sketches! Yeah, that’s him wearing his Tier whatevers Little Bo Peep dress… and not very happy about it… When will Blizz learn to give us Mages pants?
>)
Well gang, Coffinshaker is looking for a little assistance. Been looking for job for a little while now, you know how things are, so I got the bright idea to put my resume up here. My hopes are that maybe someone out there knows of or works for a company that is looking to hire. And who wouldn’t want their ol’ buddy Coffin workin’ with them? Hmm, maybe that’s not a good selling point… anyways, it’s worth a try!
So I digress, if you will notice, there’s a temporary page up on the menu bar now that will take you to my LFW page.
So, if ya think you can help, check out the page Coffin-Comics.JesterBrand.com/LFW
It is done… the construct has been assembled and all systems are a go! This thing flies! Can’t wait to start working on it… but uh… I need sleep. I’d also like to give a big ol thanks to my friend who helped me put this together since I seemed to be quite the tech-tard with this endeavor.
However, through the powers of the interwebs on fresh eyes, I have noticed a BIG problem! And as your friendly tech-tard, I humbly request assistance with this matter.
I have noticed that there is a color shift when using Firefox on Windows 7. IE seems to show the colors perfectly, as does Safari and Firefox on OSX. Haven’t tried Chrome or whatever else there is… think the PS3 displays it right. See, Coffin’s robes should be a purple color, not blue and the header should, of course, be the same purple as well to match the left and right sides of the window. Right now, on Firefox, I see the header is blueish, the sides are purple, and the colors in the pictures are a bit washed out with a bluish tinge. I embed the color profiles and it looked fine on my Mac, so seeing it this way greatly concerns me, since about 60% of the viewers here use Firefox.
So please, let me know if anyone out there is having trouble viewing these images in the correct color AND if anyone tech savvy out there knows of a good way to fix the color space, let me know.
Thanks!!
~Coffin
Well, I think this week’s comic was made with the most amount of blood, sweat, and tourettes than any of its predecessors. See, I got a MacBook Pro many a year ago and did not do my research. The poor thing lags and freezes when using Photoshop so having to save every 5 seconds and restart the computer isn’t a really fun thing to do. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my little Mac, but the time has come for us to start seeing other users…
But rejoice! For there is another! This time tomorrow I should be rockin’ out a new puter! Though it’s going to be running Windows 7… I know… I feel dirty just thinking about it… It won’t be all bad; building it myself (with the help of a friend) lets me soup it up without costing toooo much.
So without further ado, here’s an artist’s rendering of the new computer!
It has become painfully clear to me, as I sit here at this late hour, wide awake, that I am not suited for time travel. My twos are threes and my threes, fours; everything is mixed up and backwards. I rue that scoundrel George Vernon Hudson for my curse!
I have seen the future! And my friends, it is bleak! The economy still stinks, celebrities are suing people because they are so vain they think every song is about them, and the iPads have finally become sentient and destroyed mankind. Sure, it’s just a tiny leap forward, but that’s all it took! I long for the past. It was a simpler time, things were so much clearer then. Now I’m trapped here, in the future, trying to make the best of it… doing good, righting wrongs, and hoping that my next leap, will be the leap home…
Oh boy…
